Misun - Nothing Else

Misun - Nothing Else

Fact: there is a ton of indie pop out in the universe, and while nearly all of it is fun, most of it is forgettable. Can you remember a single artist featured in an early iTunes commercial? Grey's Anatomy? Didn't think so. Misun, who we have posted in the past, is fast defining themselves as original in the bland indie frontier (Sidenote: I feel this should be the title of a future Cohen brothers movie). At first listen, "Nothing Else" is almost jarring. The vocals are in a minor key, and don't seem to mesh with the jangly background. Yet, the more you hear it, the better it sounds. Misun Wojcik's vocals are catchy and reverb-tinged, and when she sings "I can't be your friend anymore," it's so pretty it doesn't even register as sad.
