Misun- Sleep

Misun definitely wins the tunes4loons MVP award so far (basically one step down from a Grammy, right?). Sleep is our 4th track by them and I don't see an end in sight for us raving about this growing L.A. band. They've shown their mastery of all things indie and Sleep shows they can do the indie-electronic hybrid perfectly as well. The beginning synth is sick and the choral synth is even sicker. Misun Wojick's vocals are as unique and flawless as always, but, unfortunately, this song is so catchy that all your tone-deaf friends will drown out her voice while singing along.

The band's explanation behind the song is also facinating: on their FB page they write:

"[Sleep] is about waking up in the middle of the night after a really good dream and realizing it's not your reality. And being unable to fall back asleep because you're afraid you're wasting your time dreaming instead of creating the reality that you desire. More or less, it's a song about telling yourself to wake up and take a look at your life and to do the things that you want with it. It's also about love and needing someone to share and understand this realization with."

In other words, this is the musical version of Inception.
