CHVRCHES- Cry Me A River (Justin Timberlake Cover)

Aahhhh*, CHVRCHES. You are the only band who I let get away with superfluous uppercase letters and v-for-u substitutions. And that is purely because of your talent. You're lucky I only judge books by their covers (and songs by their track/artist name) 98.5% of the time. If I was at a full 100% rejection of ridiculous names, I would never have clicked on "The Mother We Share" over 2 years ago purely because of your caps-lock title. But THANK GAWWWD I did press play as I've never been disappointed with the Scottish-trio's finished product. Not only do they have amazing orignals like "Recover" and "Gun" but they also have maybe the best cover selections of any band I've seen. From covering Haim's "Falling" to Whitney's "It's Not Right, But It's Okay", CHVRCHES has this amazing ability to bring in their synth-pop style  while leaving the songs' catchy cores in tact.  "Cry Me a River" is no different. AND they just randomly decided to record this in the midst of writing their new album! Really doe, what's a better form of stress release than jamming to some borderline-emo Justin Timberlake? In fact, I think it should be a requirement for artists to release a Timberlake cover while working on their albums (NSYNC covers also welcome #DUH). Sure we'd end up with some real misses, like Iron Maiden's cover of "Dirty Pop", but, on the other hand, Ella Eyre singing "Rock Your Body" would be earth-shattering as would Angel Haze's cover and rap-redux of 'Senorita". The possibilities are endless!

*"Aahhhh" like ur reaction to drinking coconut water after a tequila-soaked night. Not a panicked "aahhh" like one would say when they realized they should have bought a squirrel.

**these were actually originally the words for Fergie's "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody" but JT shut it down when he realized it would make the world think he had a teeny peeny.
